Alison Chen is a Los Angeles based visual artist.  She received an M.F.A. in Photography and Related Media from Parsons the New School for Design.  Her work deals with the human desire for romantic connection the complexities and confusions surrounding intimacy.   Through photographs, video, and performance, Chen critiques this human longing for intimacy within the framework of our cultural construction of romantic narratives. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Beijing, and Marseilles. In 2014, her work was featured in the Society for Photographic Education Film Festival. Chen has participated as an exhibitor in Beijing's Design Festival, the Pingyao International Photography Festival, and the Dali International Photo Festival. She has also had the honor to study under the direction of Magnum photographer, Antoine D'Agata.
